Watercolor Wedding Stationery- still on trend!

Coralee Watercolor invitations

Two years ago, we created our ‘Coralee‘ invitation collection and over time, we’ve noticed watercolor elements popping up everywhere! Personally we love this trend because it’s fun and playful and makes us want to break out the old paint brushes and paint palettes and get busy!

Geometric Prettiness

Bold geometric shapes are all the rage right now for modern urban weddings. What’s your take??

Personalising your stationery with custom rubber stamps!

Stamps-1-BStudio

A great way to add something extra to your stationery suite is to stamp them up with custom rubber stamps! You can add them to your mailing envelopes, RSVP envelopes, place cards, pretty much wherever you like. There are many different designs out there on the market to choose from, and a large range of coloured inkpads to work with.

To use your stamps, make sure you purchase some good quality inkpads which will work nicely with the paper/cardstock you are planning to stamp on. For our samples above and below, we experimented with  a premium quick drying inkpad which works well on glossy papers (this is important, especially if you’re planning to stamp on metallic paper) as well as matte .

I love how these cute little stamps add a lovely personal touch to your stationery. Other ways you could add a little ‘something extra’ to your stationery suite might be to add an envelope liner, custom postage stamp or even include a poem perhaps. Sound good? “Gatsby, What Gatsby?”

1920s wedding glam inspiration board- B Studio Wedding Invitations

Thanks to the recent release of Baz Luhrmann’s film “The Great Gatsby”, all things “1920’s” and “Gatsby-esque” are now back in vogue. This beautiful bygone era known as “the roaring ’20s” was a time where people embraced grandeur and glamour and partied it up without a care in the world- the perfect inspiration for a decadent fun-filled wedding, don’t you think?

Rustic Love

Hi everyone! We’ve been real busy bees over the last few months! Let me quickly share with you some pics from ‘behind the scenes’ inside our busy workshop this month…Rustic workshop collage

Above: Our rustic themed stationery has been incredibly popular since they were released last year– here’s some of the bits and pieces used in our rustic stationery designs. The studio is just jam packed with burlap, string, recycled card stock and buttons at the moment – love it!

Rustic Romance- Baby Shower invitations

Above: Our popular “Rustic Romance” invitation was made into a baby shower invitation for parents-to-be Chris and Tameka. We were happy they selected our design for their baby shower celebration. It just goes to show that some of our designs can be quite versatile and can be used as invites for other occasions besides weddings!

What’s HOT right now in the wonderful world of stationery!

2013 is set to be another GIGANTIC year in both the wedding and the stationery industry- I can just feel it! It’s only the 14th day of the year and already we have been inundated with enquiries and orders, so I have a feeling this year is going to be one super busy exciting year!

In term of wedding stationery trends, I’m predicting that the following 5 will be BIG this year:

Love Birds Rustic Invitation Collage

NEW DESIGN COMING SOON: ‘Love birds’ Collection by B Studio Wedding Invitations

– Rustic/Country theme: This theme has been vastly growing in popularity in recent years, and I expect that it will only continue to grow this year, as brides increasingly look for ways to incorporate more natural and earthy elements into their wedding. Check out our blog post last year on Rustic/Country Invitations” for some inspiration boards as well as to find out more about this trend.

– Recycled Paper goods: As mentioned above, modern couples are increasingly going “green” and turning to sustainable earth-friendly options to incorporate into their weddings. Sending invitations made out of recycled card stock/paper conveys a message to your guests that you care enough to send out a formal paper invitation, yet want to do so in a eco-friendly manner. With the rise in popularity of rustic/vintage/eco weddings, sending invites made out of recycled materials fits right in with the theme, so it’s a win-win situation!

– Birds: Birds are going to be big this year, and will feature throughout weddings in a multitude of ways. You will be seeing a lot more stationery collections featuring bird patterns and themes as well as invitations with cute little love birds on them (speaking of which, we have just designed one recently which will be available on the website soon. See pic above). You are also likely to see birds topping cakes, hanging from ceilings, adorning reception tables in cute little birds nests and more. A bird theme fits in well with a number of common wedding themes ( eg. garden, outdoors, woodsy weddings) so I’m not one bit surprised about this emerging trend.

– Doilies: Pretty lacey doilies are looking hot and we are going to see a lot more of these gorgeous things popping up everywhere! Doilies can be used on invitations, as part of wedding decorations, on cakes, dresses & many more! Whether paper or crotchet, doilies look gorgeous when teamed with a rustic or vintage theme as well as a feminine theme.

– Lace: Lace has always been on the wedding scene and will still remain popular, due to its timelessness. Personally I love lace, so you’ll hear no complaints here!

So these are just a few of the trends to watch out for this year! What do you think of these trends and will you be incorporating any of these into your wedding or event?

Emerald (representing balance and harmony) named color of the year-2013!

Pantone, the worldwide standard for color communication and inspiration since 1963, has just announced the color for 2013… and it is…Emerald green!

Emerald Invitation-limited edition by B Studio-collage

Last year’s color, Tangerine Tango, was all about vibrancy and energy, however in contrast, the color of 2013 (Emerald green) represents balance, healing and unity (according to Pantone). Those are certainly qualities which contribute to a good marriage I’ll say! So hands up who is excited about incorporating this gorgeous hue into their wedding?

To celebrate the color of 2013, B Studio Wedding Invitations has designed a limited edition invitation (pic above) which features this unique color! This invitation will only be available by special order, so please contact us directly if you are interested!

As 2012 is quickly drawing to a close, we would like to wish all our clients, friends and fans a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Thank you so much for your support during 2012 and we can’t wait to charge into 2013 as we have plenty more in store for you!!! Stay tuned x

Destination: Fun in the Sun! {Vibrant stationery for destination/beach weddings}

We’ve recently had the pleasure of creating a few custom stationery pieces for a destination wedding taking place in Samoa as well as some “on the day” stationery for a fun beach wedding to be held in Sydney. With both designs, we had the opportunity to experiment with COLOUR, which was great fun! Injecting vibrant colours into your stationery is definitely one way to  set a fun and playful tone for the big event!

Here’s a pic of our coral ‘Save the Dates’ cards and our textured sand -coloured tent cards (see below). We think that they would be perfect for a destination or beach wedding. What do you think?

P.S. If you’re not sure what a rustic wedding is, think: countryside charm, barns, wooden signs, burlap (also known as jute or hessian), mason jars and homemade jams and goodies to name just a few! For an elegant spin to the rustic theme, consider having a rustic chic, rustic romantic or rustic mixed with vintage wedding theme!

Are handmade wedding invitatons right for you?

There are so many invitation options out there these days, and despite having a business primarily focused on handmade invites, I do have a deep love and appreciation for many other types of invitations other than handmade ones. It’s truly a wonderful thing that brides and grooms of today have such an abundance of choice!

So let’s get down to the question at hand…

Are handmade invitations the right choice for you?

Handmade stationery may not be for everyone, but it may be the right choice for you if:

– You are looking to personalize every aspect of your invitations:

A good thing about handmade invitations is that they allow couples to personalize each and every aspect of their invite- from the style and texture of the card and paper to be used, the colours to be featured, right down to the type of embellishments to be applied.

There is quite a bit of flexibility involved as the majority of handmade stationery is made-to-order (not mass-produced), thus a variety of changes can be accommodated.  Some stationers (us included) may also be able to accommodate special wording and printing requirements. For example, if you are looking to have half of your stationery printed with different wording to the other half, this is something which could be arranged for you.

– You are looking for something unique and just a bit different:

You have endless opportunities to have an invitation that’s completely unique and so…YOU…with a handmade card!

As mentioned above, with so many options available at every level of the design process,  it’s rather unlikely that you will end up with the exact same invite as your neighbour or friend from work  (unless of course you all have the same (magnificent) taste)!!!  =)

– You want more than just a flat piece of card:

You might have seen handmade invitations out there which are adorned with beautiful lace fabrics, dazzling diamante clusters, pretty feathers, pearls and other gorgeous embellishments. If you are looking for an invitation which has a bit more to it than just cardboard and ink, a handmade card may be the right choice for you.

Little details that make a BIG impact on your wedding stationery!

It’s quite easy to add a little pizzazz and personality to your wedding stationery…it’s those little details that make all the difference and set you apart from the rest. Here are some fun ideas you might like to consider:

– Use envelope liners to give your envelopes that extra bit of ‘pretty’

I love envelope liners which is why I’ve recently incorporated them into my stationery lines. The give plain envelopes that extra bit of impact and add a nice finishing touch to your entire stationery suite.

– Order custom postage stamps

I think this is such a great idea however by the time I found out that you could order custom-made postage stamps, my wedding day had already passed! Having your favourite couple shot (or any picture you like) on your stamps is certainly a way to make your stationery truly ‘yours’ and also it’s bound to have people marveling at not only your invite, but also your envelope too!

– Add a romantic quote or poem to your wedding invitations

Personally, I think this is a brilliant idea, as it often sets a romantic and loving tone for your wedding day, and is just one way that you can express your love to each other and share it with their guests. You might like to add the quote/poem on the cover of your invitation, inside your invitation card or perhaps even weave it into your invitation wording!

Love Quotes on Invitations and Stationery

Lately I’ve been noticing more and more couples incorporating short and sweet love quotes on their invites, place cards and church booklets to name a few.

Personally, I think this is a fantastic idea, as it often sets a romantic and loving tone for their wedding day, and is just one way that a couple can express their love to each other and share it with their guests.

Simplicity quote by Leonardo Da Vinci

There are so many beautiful quotes out there but two of my all-time favourite quotes would have to be the following:

  • Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life…love gives us a fairy tale.
    ~ Anonymous ~
  • You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.
    ~ Dr. Seuss~
These quotes just bring a smile to my face and make me feel all fuzzy! For more love quotes (and poems) head yourself to: www.weddinglovequotes.com

Wedding Invitations in Different Languages

Did you know that at B Studio Wedding Invitations, we are able to print stationery in multiple languages?

Well, if you didn’t, you do now! All you have to do is provide us with the wording in the language(s) of your choice. (Don’t forget to triple check it to ensure that all the wording is correct!).

Some couples opt to have one invitation with multiple languages printed on different sides of the card whereas some choose to send out separate invitations printed with the various different languages.

Sweet Petite by B Studio Invitation Collection- English & French wording

This week, we have been working on a special order for a lovely bride-to-be whereby half of the stationery was printed in English and half in French. Our bride-to-be ordered wedding invitations, tin boxes and RSVP card sets from our Sweet Petite stationery range and we also created custom-made bonbonniere tags for her, displaying wording in both English and French! See above!

These days, it isn’t too uncommon to find couples sending bilingual (and even trilingual) wedding invitations to their guests! This often happens when the bride and groom are from different cultural backgrounds, and is a special way to ensure both sides of the family feel welcome and included in the couple’s wedding festivities.

However, being apart of different cultural backgrounds is not a necessity for sending out wedding invitations in different languages. Some couples who have a special connection with a different culture other than their own, choose to send out invitations in this language, as it is something which is meaningful and holds significance to them.

Are you be sending out invitations in different languages for your big day? Let us know!

Enhance your wedding stationery with a unique and personalised wedding monogram!

You and your partners names or initials incorporated into a monogram is a great way to tie together your wedding stationery and add that extra special personalised touch!

Your monogram can be featured on your wedding invitations, place cards, bonbonniere boxes and more!
