Two years ago, we created our ‘Coralee‘ invitation collection and over time, we’ve noticed watercolor elements popping up everywhere! Personally we love this trend because it’s fun and playful and makes us want to break out the old paint brushes and paint palettes and get busy!

Here at B Studio headquarters, we love nothing more than dabbling in a creative papercraft project every now and then! Today the team had a heap of fun making these cute and colourful paper bows! These bows have a variety of different uses- you can add them to gifts, bomboniere boxes and cards, use them to decorate straws and props…the options are endless!
Mariann & Scott’s Exotic Koh Samui Wedding
There is seriously nothing I enjoy more than receiving photos from my oh-so-awesome clients of their wedding day!
Today, I’m thrilled to be sharing some of Mariann and Scott’s gorgeous pics from their wedding in Koh Samui, Thailand late last year. It was such a delight to work with this beautiful couple as well as the wonderful Mother of the Groom. From the initial ‘Save the Date’ cards to the wedding invitations and then the matching reception stationery, it’s all been an incredible creative journey! I had tons of fun creating their custom-made beach themed stationery- have a look and let me know what you think!
A navy and pink custom invitation design
Salut, mon ami! It’s been awhile since the last blog post, so please do accept my apologies. My team and I have been very busy behind the scenes and blogging has unfortunately fallen by the wayside. However, we’re back and here to share with you a custom design we created recently! Navy, blush pink and ivory lace look oh-so-pretty together, don’t you think?
UPDATE 2nd April 2014– Due to the high interest level, this custom design has now made it’s way into our main gallery! You can view more images and order these beauties on our website here.
Behind the scenes in the studio + what inspires me!
Last week, a friend of mine asked me how I come up with my invitation designs as well as how many new designs I release each year.
That question got me thinking because it’s not something which I really give too much thought to. Like most designers and artists, I don’t have a set schedule for producing new work. Inspiration can hit at any time of day (and often at very random moments) but whenever possible, if a great design idea or concept comes to mind, I try to sit down immediately and draw or write about it while the idea is still fresh! I’ll then have a play with it whenever time permits.
Lots of things inspire my designs. I get inspiration from emerging wedding trends, experimenting with pretty colour combinations, discovering unique fabrics and embellishments, as well as learning new crafting techniques. However, my inspiration does not only come from wedding related sources. Going to the local markets, taking trips to beautiful scenic places and following various fashion, travel and craft blogs for example, also provides great fuel for creativity. As a person who is constantly on the look-out for ways to create something fresh and different, I do find looking away from the wedding scene to be beneficial. This is because things can unfortunately start to look way too stock standard after being in the industry for a number of years.
I know that I’m on to a good thing when I feel a buzz with what I am creating. That FEELING you get when you have a fantastic new design idea is just breathtaking and I always get so excited and anxious to start creating! Its almost like I can’t think about anything else until it’s done! For me, designing is hands down the best part of my job!

Real Inspiration- Angela & Kai’s Maymont Park Engagement Shoot
I just love this couples’ engagement shoot photos which were captured by Michael Archer photography in Maymont Park, Richmond, Virginia. As you can see, they both look incredibly CUTE and sweet and very much in love! Angela is originally from Sydney while Kai is from Virginia Beach, Virginia (where they both currently reside). The young pair met in 2010 while partaking in an university exchange program and have been inseparable since.
Kai proposed to Angela in July of this year and as Angela recalls “He was obsessed with wanting to propose to me inside a hot air balloon ride. He tried not once, not twice, but three times, but every time we were about to board the hot air balloon, the ride was cancelled due to bad weather or some other reason! So, after three failed attempts, he just winged it and spontaneously got down on bended knee at Caesars Palace, while we were on holidays in Atlantic City. I found out later that he had one of the waiters’ secretly take pictures of the whole proposal, so now we have that precious moment captured forever. I wouldn’t change anything about how it all happened. It didn’t quite go according to Kai’s plans, but in the end, it worked out perfectly!”
The pair ordered “Will you be my bridesmaid” cards from B Studio earlier in the year, and we will soon be working with them for their custom designed ‘Save the Date’ cards and wedding stationery. Can’t wait to share pictures of their stationery with you in a future post!
Real Weddings, Real Inspiration – Client photos
We just adore it when our clients send us happy snaps from their wedding day! It’s always wonderful to see what our couples look like as well as how our stationery fit into their big day!
Above, we have a few pictures sent in from Mayra and Jason in Florida. The couple were married just last month and chose our “Enchanting Stripes” range for their wedding stationery. Thank you so much Mayra and Jason for sending in your gorgeous photos!
Down below, we have Tiffany and Steven’s custom-made rustic twine and doily menus, made to match the “Miss Lacey” invitations they ordered from us earlier in the year. Instead of printing their text on recycled card, the couple chose a matte ivory paper instead and a great choice that was. I love how the menus turned out. Our clients really do have the best ideas! =)
Are you a current or past client of B Studio? If so, we’d love for you to share your wedding photos with us! Who knows, you could even be featured in our next blog post!

Personalising your stationery with custom rubber stamps!
A great way to add something extra to your stationery suite is to stamp them up with custom rubber stamps! You can add them to your mailing envelopes, RSVP envelopes, place cards, pretty much wherever you like. There are many different designs out there on the market to choose from, and a large range of coloured inkpads to work with.
To use your stamps, make sure you purchase some good quality inkpads which will work nicely with the paper/cardstock you are planning to stamp on. For our samples above and below, we experimented with a premium quick drying inkpad which works well on glossy papers (this is important, especially if you’re planning to stamp on metallic paper) as well as matte .
I love how these cute little stamps add a lovely personal touch to your stationery. Other ways you could add a little ‘something extra’ to your stationery suite might be to add an envelope liner, custom postage stamp or even include a poem perhaps. Sound good? 3 things I’ve learnt over the years…
This month, exactly 3 years ago, was the time I took a big leap of faith and quit my job in the corporate environment. At that point in time, I had been working on my invitation business for a year already on a part-time basis, and had made a decision to go out on my own and devote myself to the business, full-time.
I was nervous. I was scared. I had little idea about what it meant to be my own boss. I was also incredibly excited about embarking on a new journey and having the opportunity to do something which I really enjoyed and was passionate about.
Let me be upfront and say that running a small business is hard hard HARD work! There’s no getting ’round that fact. But yet, I feel that if you’re doing something you feel connected with every day, it certainly is worth it. Today, I want to share just a few things I’ve learnt over the past few years… [Read more…]
