Welcome back everyone! This is our 1st post for 2012 and we’re so excited to get the ball rolling again and we look forward to having another fantastic year in weddings and stationery design!

Here’s something a little different from our usual blog posts. I found this photo on Etsy and I think it’s way cute!

Apple love to you all!

I am proud of this navy blue & off-white version of our “Sweet Petite” invitation we made for a customer this month. I like how refined and regal the invitation looks with the navy card and ribbon and I think the off-white provides a beautiful contrast.

As we will be closed for the holidays from 19th Dec 2011- 31st Dec 2011, it looks like this will be our final blog post for 2011!  We at B Studio would like to wish all our customers, fans and friends a fantastic Christmas and new year and we hope to see you back here next year, as we have much more in store for you!

Take care all,

B Studio Wedding Invitations

A gold wedding theme is beautiful and luxurious and looks elegant especially when combined with various soft colours such as white, ivory, champagne or pale pink. It can also work well with darker hues such as a rich brown or mossy green.

The key to making a gold theme work is not to go overboard with the glitz and instead add touches of gold here and there, to give your wedding that classy elegant look.

Need a bit of inspiration? Have a look at our gold themed inspiration board below:

Lately I’ve been noticing more and more couples incorporating short and sweet love quotes on their invites, place cards and church booklets to name a few.

Personally, I think this is a fantastic idea, as it often sets a romantic and loving tone for their wedding day, and is just one way that a couple can express their love to each other and share it with their guests.

Simplicity quote by Leonardo Da Vinci

There are so many beautiful quotes out there but two of my all-time favourite quotes would have to be the following:

  • Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life…love gives us a fairy tale.
    ~ Anonymous ~
  • You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.
    ~ Dr. Seuss~
These quotes just bring a smile to my face and make me feel all fuzzy! For more love quotes (and poems) head yourself to: www.weddinglovequotes.com

This week, it’s been all about LACE in the studio. Nearly all of the orders and samples we worked on throughout the week have featured lace on them. Here’s a sneak peek of 2 of the projects which have kept us busy…

Vintage Cream Ivory Place cards- Gloria & Leigh

Above: These vintage lace place cards were handcrafted for the wonderful Gloria & Leigh. We created these place cards to match their wedding stationery which we made for them a few months ago. You can view their custom designed cream & baby pink invitations here.

Wedding Congratulations Card Collage- Julie Lionel

Above: This dusty pink and cream “Congratulations” card was made for friends Julie & Lionel who were married on the weekend.

Before I sign off, I’d just like to invite you to join us on Facebook  (if you haven’t already) as that is where we often post up our latest projects and designs, special offers and more!

Have a great week!

One of the things I LOVE about my job is receiving happy snaps from our brides of their special day! Yesterday, I received these two gorgeous photos from Florianne and couldn’t wait to share them!

Florianne and Matt were married in Mougins, France two months ago and chose our “Sweet Petite” stationery suite, as it fit in with their decorations and the style of their venue.

It has been a delight working with Florianne over the past 2 years, beginning with organising her Save the Date cards and then finally working on creating the matching invitations, menus, bomboniere cards and place cards. The couple used both English and French on their stationery and their invitation and bomboniere tag was actually featured in one of our previous posts (click here)

Thank you Florianne for sending your photos in!! We love seeing photos of our lovely couples so if you are a past bride,  we’d love for you to share your photos with us!

We often get so busy in the studio working on our invitation orders back-to-back, that we don’t get the time to photograph many of our customers orders. This week though, I made a conscious effort to try to take pictures of a few of the orders that we are currently working on, and display them on the blog. In the past week, we have been working on 3 special orders…
***
The first is for Gaela and Russell who ordered our deluxe “Grandeur” invitations (their invitation box set is pictured below)

The second order is for Gloria and Leigh who chose a special custom design featuring a metallic cream gate-fold card, lace and a large baby pink ribbon wrapped around the card and tied into a bow at the front. Their guests will have the pleasure of undoing the bow to open up their invitation.

The third order is for Sara and Cheyne who ordered our (now discontinued) Love Garden invitation series ( pictured below).

This week has certainly been a busy one. In between orders, we also managed to re-vamp our website with a fresh new layout! Have a look and let us know what you think! =)

NEW handmade invitation- "Charmed by Love"

NEW handmade invitation "Charmed by Love"

Personally, I am a lover of handmade goods. Be it handmade jewellery, decorations, invitations…you name it. I have always appreciated and admired the time, effort and craftmanship behind a well-made handmade item. Each piece is unique and special and knowing that my item wasn’t a mass-produced product churned out from a factory makes me cherish it that little bit more.

I know how much time and effort I put into creating each and every invitation for my customers and I do often try to picture the look on their faces when they receive their packages from me, and have a look at their invitation for the first time. I would imagine that it would be a look of delight and awe, and this is the response I strive to achieve with each and every piece of mine. This is another reason why I love handmade goods… I believe they can bring out feelings and emotions that oftentimes plain mass-produced products can’t.

Last month, I signed a pledge to support the handmade goods industry, vouching to buy handmade goods for myself and others where possible. Here is my plaque below:

Are you a fan of handmade products yourself? What handmade items do you buy or make?
